Welcome Welcome to the Ohio High School Cup. In just nine short years, the OHS Cup has become one of the nation's largest high school soccer tournaments. We have given over $30,000 in scholarships, and have provided our players and coaches the special opportunity to prepare for their upcoming 2008 season.
The Ohio High School Scholarship Cup is a tournament exclusively for high school teams. If you have not been with us before, the following information will help you prepare to attend this exciting event.
Who Can Play? Players who will be eligible for High School play in the upcoming fall season (Michigan women sides may play just graduated seniors due to spring season). You are welcome to bring more than one team and you are also welcome to play in any division you request.
Why Should I Bring My Team to This Tournament? The Ohio Scholarship Cup is the nation's only high school tournament dedicated to offering scholarships for senior participants, dedicated to a tournament format, dedicated to offering equal divisions for play, and dedicated to advancing the growth of soccer. The Ohio Cup is a non-profit event that exists to raise money for scholarships and soccer only. Your attendance at the Ohio Cup is not just a chance to participate in a fun event and kick off your new year; it is a real support for all soccer.
How Will Teams Be Chosen to Play in the Ohio Cup: We have no intention to "select" teams out of the Ohio Cup. Our only limit is facility space. Simply, we have rolling admissions. Ninety percent of our teams come from Ohio but we welcome the growing number of teams from Pennsylvania and Michigan. The tournament format allows for great equality of play as we host perennial state powers and teams just beginning programs. Our divisioning helps to place teams against equal competition, and everyone gets to be together as soccer was intended. We can accommodate nearly 100 teams each weekend. We will only limit once we have reached our limit. Please, apply early.
Congratulations to the many Ohio Cup teams that won their district finals and beyond. Thank you to the many coaches and players who wrote us that their seasons' success began at the Ohio Cup, and to the many fine scholar applicants. Choose to give your players a chance for our $500.00 scholarships by attending.
